Halloween 2008

We love Halloween and we always have a party. This year, we started the night at our neighbor's house for homemade soup. We had 5 different soups and Deborah's buns they were good. We had a huge amount of trick-or-treaters and I think we gave out over 150 pieces of candy. Afterwards we ended up at our house for dessert and fun. What made the night was Frank and Freddy who did a routine from SNL about the Chippendale Dancers. Frank was Chris Farley and Freddy was Patrick Swayze. It was the funniest thing I ever seen.

Our Ruby was Tinkerbell and of course she was the prettiest fairy ever! Senessa and Jacob won the award for the most original costumes - Jacob was a Twister Game Board and Senessa was the spinner. Natalie was beautiful as a peacock and Sean won for the funniest costume - he came as a wooppie cushion. Kelley was a blond Cleopatra and Grandma was a foxy Jeannie.

Stevilyn and Brian won for the best overall costumes - they came as characters from the movie Hook. Stevilyn was a Pirate and Brian was dead on and I mean dead on to Rufio. Nick was a super cool Frankenstein and Fred, Deborah and Jack were all Doctors. Fred was McFoxy! Our next door neighbors all came in their pajamas - they came as a slumber party! Chip surprised us and made the party!

Saturday it rained so we stayed inside all day and played games and had nachos for dinner. It made us all look forward to Thanksgiving when we get to spend even more time together.

My 50th Birthday Weekend

My birthday weekend started Friday morning when Jack took Frank and me to breakfast. The three brothers together. Jack is a big part of the Lemmo family and he will always be a brother and a uncle to the Lemmo family. After breakfast Chip had a baseball game and we went to see him play. I can watch Chip play ball every day. Friday night the rest of the family came in and we had pizza and listened to music.
Saturday morning Chip had another baseball game so we went to see him play. After we came home and took a nap, I guess that happens when you turn 50. After we went to the batting cages and Frank and I gave hitting pointers to Jacob, Sean, Freddy and Bryan. Jack was there taking pictures and JT and Jarom were playing games. After the cages we went home and I thought we were going to have a family birthday party for Frank and I and when we got there we were surprised to see our friends Don Clegg, Keith Romick, Brent Briggs and King Jonas Dave Miranda. It was a great night with family and friends. Frank and I are so lucky to have friends that we still keep in contact with after so many years. I consider these friends my brothers and love these guys. I would like to thank Senessa and Jack for getting our friends there. Senessa had some great pictures of Frank and I growing up all over the house. The food was great and the cake was the best. Sunday came and we took it easy and played a game and Deborah and I left Sunday night. Monday Deborah and I took the day off from work and we went to breakfast and took it easy the rest of the day. I’m 50 and I can look forward for the next 50 years. I’m thankful for my family and friends. This weekend was great!

Dreams

It’s October and I’m turning 50 on the 13th. Today I'm thinking about my life. How many of us grow up and have dreams of being a Ballerina, Doctor, Astronaut or an professional ball player. Many of our dreams do not turn out to be one of these professions. I wanted to be an professional baseball player and it didn’t turn out that way. I played enough to be well known in the Bay Area for playing ball. I’m I sad that my dream never came true? No. Do I like what I have done in my career? Mainly yes. Being an professional baseball player would have been great but would I have my family, probably not. Having dreams can be healthy because you can strive for your dreams and if it doesn’t happen other opportunities can come through our dreams. My dream at my age now is to live long enough to see my grand children grow up and hear about there dreams and see their dreams . May our dreams kept us happy.

AUGUST WENT BY FAST

On the 16th of August we went down to Frank's and Kelley's house to celebrate Pops and Grandma's 50th Anniversary (Kelley's mom and dad). The party was at Frank and Kelley's house. Eight friends' came out from the Bay Area to be there to celebrate there 50th. Grandma was so surprise she could not stop crying.

It was a hard one for me because of my parents miss there's by one year. My Dad was really looking forward to it. Of course my Dad died the year before there 50th. I can imagine what the party would be like. A lot of great food, great music, probably having Nick's Italian band playing and having great old friend's and family there. I can see my Mom and Dad on the dance floor dancing the jitter bug and my parents can dance. We would have some family members sharing there memories of my parents. It would have been a great party.

I miss my Dad dearly. You needed to love him as he was. If he liked you he would give the shirt off his back and if he didn't like you beware. My Dad had a hard childhood and he came along way. He loved his family especially my Mother. Love you Dad.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND-FUN, FUN , FUN. We had Frank, Kelley, Chipper, Freddy, Pops and Grandma come up Friday night to start the festivities for a great weekend. Saturday night my Mom and my sister Cindy came and we had the club house at Jacob and Senessa's apartment. For the night we BBQ, swim, played cards and ping pong to 10:30.

We had sleeping arrangements setup for everybody so there was somebody sleeping at the Lemmo's, Tiffany's and Miller's.

Sunday we had a BBQ with family and friends and Stevilynn and Brian surprise us by showing up. I used John's our next door neighbors chicken barrel and cooked 12 half chickens. It was really GOOD. We had a lot of food and enjoyed everybody's company.

My Mom was going to spend the week with us and she thought Cindy was pawning her off to us. She got little upset that she was staying so she went home with Cindy on Monday. After she got home and read a note Cindy gave to her last week about coming to stay with us because I ask if she can, she felt bad about not staying. My Mother forgets things vary easily. My Mother likes to stay in her comfort zone and that is with Cindy. Cindy needs a brake and she does a lot for my Mother and I appreciate all she does for my Mother.

Frank and Kelley and there gang left about 1:30 Monday. And the Chico family had leftovers for dinner Monday night. It was a GREAT WEEKEND.

July Family Happenings

Ruby on the 4th

Relaxing in Lake Tahoe

Ruby's Toes

Ruby on the Beach

A Serious Game of Solitaire

First of all I would like to congratulate Cindy for becoming the President of the Fernley Rotary. She spends a lot of time and energy for the Rotary. One of these days she will be the Mayor of Fernley. I am thankful for all she does especially for my mother.

We had a busy July. Sean and Natalie went though the Oakland temple on July 5th for there endowments, had great weekend at Frank and Kelley house. It was Ruby’s first 4th of July and she loves the fireworks. The night we came back from the Temple We BBQ some pork chops at 10 at night. Frank had us laughing about eating that late.

On July 29th we started our vacation in Tahoe with Jacob, Senessa, Freddy and the baby. We rented a place that was called Pine Cone Resort. They had a great swimming pool and hot tub. We play a lot of games and the game we finished with every night was Password, I was the sore keeper. I had a mishap one night BBQ and I tripped in front of the BBQ and my left hand landed on top of the HOT grill. Freddy told me to put it under cold water for at less for 15 min. and did for about hour; Senessa and Jacob want the store and bought me some bandage and ointment for by burns on three of my fingers and my palm. Within 2 hours I had no pain and it didn’t mess up my vacation.

Thursday morning Frank, Kelley, Stevilynn, Chipper, Grandma and Brian surprise us and showed up at Pine Cone Resort. They spent 2 nights there with us and had so much fun.

Friday was the Day that Sean and Natalie were getting sealed in the Reno Temple. I’m so proud of both of them. Sean’s family and the Lemmo family was there, it was so much fun seeing everybody, Bishop Thayne and his wife came to. After the Sealing the entire Lemmo group went to the Atlantis Casino in Reno and eat at the buffet and it’s one of the best. Friday night we went to Sean’s family camp site and had hamburgers and hot dogs and after the entire group went to the beach and played volleyball.

Saturday Freddy went home with his Modesto family(we were all very sad). Natalie and Sean stayed with us and we went swimming and did the hot tub. Jacob and Senessa took all of us for a late lunch (yum, yum). We decide to come home Saturday night so we can have a day to rest from our vacation and get ready for the work week.

I love being with my family and that’s what I live for. I especially love my Ruby she reminds me of my girls who I love dearly. I love my wife who is the backbone of our family, she loves to have the fun times with our family.

Music Makes You Happy

Last Saturday night just watched The Chours a French movie that I saw one morning. I told Deborah about it and I thought that she would like it. If you'd known me thrity years ago there would be no chance in hell that I would watch this type of movie. It's a really good movie. Music is the soul of life, it makes you happy and can sometimes make a sad place or sad time happy. Music is a big part of our family. Senessa and Natalie were brought up listening to various types of music country music however was not allowed. With marrying Deborah I started listening to everything from Rock to Opera and I have even attended many musicals. I am turning 50 in October. I have started many times writting a journal but have never kept it up. Senessa started a blog and logs something on hers about every two weeks, letting everyone know what is going on with their family. In some ways it is a journal. I think I will do a blog about the years after fifty years old (scary). This will be my intro for my blog. I decided to post this entry because of my wife. Without her and her music influence our lives would be different. So I start my blog with music notes and pictures that make me happy. I hope that I can blog for the next fifty years. Hopefully whoever reads my blog can read it to the end and maybe my children and grandchildren can keep it going!
